The Australian Wild Horse Research Institute is conducting independent research into the population science, management and welfare of Australian wild horses, with an initial focus on Brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park.
Current research examines the relationship between published population estimates, reported removals, detection, sampling, statistical modelling and changes in estimated abundance over time.
